If there is one thing I mourn, it is the passing of this great man, whose brilliance, compassion, understanding and unbelievable way with a book helped so many of us who live far from his physical church. Nobody has an easy time, and he knew it. What was unreal is that so often he discussed the exact thoughts or emotions I was dealing with. Rev. Gerald Mann spoke far beyond denomination, sex, race .... to the commonality of being human in a brutal and irrational world, and lead us by making us stand up and walk for ourselves.
This is a very little book that is huge ... it ties together much of what he researched and put together in his other books. He got down to basics .... responsibility, caring for others, caring even for oneself .... how to pick ourselves up and get going again. Every time I find a book I missed before, I buy it, read it, and blend it into the gestalt of life that helps deal with today and learn from yesterday. Now I know a tie to God is in my pocket!
